Matthew Sawicki is an experienced audio engineer and the co-owner of Suburban Pro Studios. His journey in the music industry began in 2002 when he started as an intern at Jupiter Studios on Washington Ave. in Downtown St. Louis. By 2003, he was already running his own sessions, showcasing his dedication and talent. Matthew continued to hone his skills at Jupiter Studios until 2006 when he embarked on a new venture, founding Suburban Pro Studios in Florissant, Missouri alongside Carter McKee.
Throughout his career spanning over 17 years, Matthew has become a respected figure in the Saint Louis music scene, known by many aliases. One fact remains constant and indisputable: he knows his craft. Matthew has developed a reputation for his technical expertise and ability to produce high-quality audio recordings across various genres, including hip-hop, rap, R&B, and pop.
Matthew’s proficiency with professional audio software such as Pro Tools and Serato is evident in his work. He has a deep understanding of these tools, using them to create recordings that are polished and emotionally impactful.
With an impressive track record, Matthew has collaborated with notable artists such as Nelly, Chingy, Lil Boosie, Webbie, and Tef Poe. Notably, he achieved a double platinum record for Huey’s “Pop, Lock, and Drop It” at the young age of 23. For the past two decades, Matthew has been consistently delivering quality records and pushing the boundaries of audio engineering.
In addition to his technical skills and production experience, Matthew has a deep passion for music. He has a particular interest in soul, funk, and afrobeat, and this passion is evident in the way he approaches his work. He is able to bring a unique perspective to each project, resulting in recordings that are both polished and emotionally impactful.
Matthew’s passion for music is also reflected in his interest in collecting vinyl records. He has a vast collection of classic albums and is always on the lookout for new and interesting pieces to add to his collection.
Spending most of his nights as a DJ and host of the local monthly “Fresh Produce Beat Battle” allows him to bring a unique perspective to the production process, as he understands the importance of creating music that is not only technically proficient but also has the ability to move and engage audiences.
Matthew is a true music lover, and this passion is evident in every aspect of his work. From his technical skills to his production experience, and from his passion for collecting vinyl to his experience as a DJ and host of “Fresh Produce”, Matthew is a skilled professional who delivers high-quality audio to his clients, not just in Saint Louis but also all over the music scene.
